Swimming

We spent a wonderful afternoon visiting my mother's sister and her family in Massachusetts. We couldn't ask for much more: fun in the pool with second cousins who have also become good friends; beautiful weather; delicious food and wine; and pleasant chats with genuinely nice people.

Thursdays

This morning, Stella held up a fan of cards and said to me, "Pick a card, Mama." Learning to play Cribbage is just around the corner. By the way, the shirt she's wearing is one I got after seeing Andre the Seal in Rockport back in the seventies.

Pink Pumps

This morning, Bridget and I spent about two hours with Maria, the diabetes nurse educator, learning how to use Bridget's new insulin pump. For the coming week, Bridget will use the pump with saline, continuing to give herself insulin injections. Next Monday, we meet with Maria again, and Bridget will then start using the pump with insulin. We'll have a third class the week after that, and a follow-up four weeks later. Thus far, Bridget likes the pump a lot (the pink color certainly helps), and is already seeing how it will help her better manage her diabetes.

A Pirate on the Stairs

The other day, for my poetry-photo challenge, I chose "Halfway Down" by A.A. Milne, and asked Jack to pose for me. This is what I got. Expressive, isn't he?

Early Morning Catch-up

It's 5:20 a.m. I'm out of bed, so I can drive Luke to Natanis for his 6:30 tee time. He's playing in the Men's Club Tournament today. The MESGA Junior tournament on Wednesday was held at Natanis (Luke's home field) and he won his division with a score of 73.

I've posted many of shots of Luke in his orange shirt and Rickie Fowler hat, so I won't put any up today. Instead I'll share some photos from last week's vacation at Spruce Point Inn and Resort in Boothbay Harbor, which included giant checkers, a campfire for toasting marshmallows, and some gorgeous sunsets.

Thursdays

It's hot and humid. We went on vacation. My sister was here. Did I mention that it's hot? Greg's here every other day, mudding drywall. Oh, and it's hot. In other words: I've been busy (and hot). In the near future, I hope to get a little more accomplished online, but, at least, I have some new shots of Stella. She played in the water and the dirt today.

Thursdays

Stella got a new bathing suit at TJ Maxx today and wouldn't even let the cashier put it in the bag. When we left the store, Stella asked me to put it on, so I did: over her dress. It was quite the look. I didn't get a shot of it, as we removed the dress and put the bathing suit on by itself, once we got home. These photos were taken in the construction zone.
