He'd Rather Be Outside

It's not quite May, and the freckles are already showing up on Sam's face.

To Cut or Not to Cut

When nothing else is blooming, it's hard to bring myself to cut crocuses and enjoy them inside, but today I did it.

It was a quiet weekend without Luke and Bridget, who were in Rockland for the youth ministry convention, but they're home now.

Sam and Henry came up with another new game. This one involves a tennis ball and shields. Stella took it upon herself to act as cheerleader.

450 Years Old

Dennis, the kids (all but Luke), and I traveled to St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, to celebrate William Shakespeare's 450th birthday with Dr. Gary Bouchard (my favorite professor from my time at St. A's) and other Anselmians. Dennis and Bridget each helped with the reading of all the Bard's 154 sonnets. As a bonus, we got to spend time with Dennis's parents. Oh, in the last shot, you can see the Commons, but it used to be a parking lot, and it's where Dennis and I first met.

Twas the Night Before Easter

Unsurprisingly, we colored eggs. When that task was finished, the kids filled their Easter baskets and hid eggs. (Sorry, no Easter Bunny believers here.)

Bubble Slugs

When I found the idea for this fun activity on Pinterest, it was billed as "bubble snakes," but Henry said they were more like bubble slugs. Jack thinks there should have been a disclaimer about not inhaling the bubble solution.
