I was surprised to see this bud on the rosebush my friend Daisy gave me. It seems a bit late in the season. But then again, Daisy is about as punctual as I am. I guess it makes perfect sense, after all.

A Good Day for Bubbles

On more than one occasion, my mother-in-law has suggested getting outside and blowing bubbles when the temperature gets below zero, because the bubbles freeze. The problem is, that when the temperature gets below zero, it's hard to get myself outside. Stella, Henry, and I did it today, though (and all the boys sledded and snowboarded again for at least an hour). Stella was not dressed warmly enough in her pink coat and didn't stay outside long, but she insists on putting fashion first. I was, however, very pleased that she finally wore the gorgeous beaded beret Bridget knit. By the way, Luke just reported that the temperature (at 9:30 pm) is 17 below. Photos taken 1/23/13
