Yesterday, I introduced the kids to
Khan Academy, a free online site filled with teaching videos and exercises on subjects like math and science. I created user profiles for most of us and showed the kids how to get started. Since then, Luke has logged more than two hours in math and gathered enough points to unlock two levels of avatars; Bridget now understands long division; Henry has repeated any exercise he has not completed perfectly; Sam has been delving into basic math concepts, Jack gave counting exercises a go, and I cruise through sets of problems whenever I get a turn at the computer. Getting a turn at the computer: that's the hard part.
