Like a Fish to Water

We live in an area filled with lakes. Most of the surrounding towns have public beaches open to their residents. Our town does not. Yesterday, I called the office of the town next to us to see if they had any annual beach passes still available for the residents of our town. I was told that they did and that the office closed at 4:30.

I downloaded the form, completed it, and made sure I had $65 . Once Stella awoke from her nap (ok, and I had finished my cup of tea), I — like a drill sergeant — hustled all of the kids and the camera into the minivan, headed west, and arrived at the town office minutes before it was scheduled to close. I secured the pass (while having a fabulous conversation about homeschooling with the woman who helped me), and we headed for the beach.

The kids complained that they hadn't had time to put on bathing suits, but I knew that wouldn't stop them from swimming, and it didn't. You may see more photos from our fun afternoon, but today, you get these shots of a very happy Jack.
