A Visit from Saint Nicholas

We lined up our shoes by the front door last night, and this morning — the feast day of Saint Nicholas — we found them filled with chocolates.  A small gift for each of us was left near the shoes: a book for Dennis, beads for me, a Mentos geyser tube for Luke, an origami fashions kit for Bridget, wooden dirks for Henry and Sam, a jigsaw puzzle for Jack, and a ball and cat on wheels for Stella.  It's a sweet, snowy morning.

Don't forget the dog, who whined to be let out at 3:00 am and promptly bolted.

Searching and calling and even driving up and down the road with a spot-beam light didn't turn her up until she turned up at 7:30 am.

Grr.
