Preparing for the New with the Old

With my due date drawing near, it was time to wash and dry the baby clothes, fold them and put them into the baby dresser, which Dennis and his Dad moved upstairs to the master bedroom last weekend. My sister bought that dresser for us a couple of months before Luke was born. Each of the five kids have gotten diapered and dressed there. The Beatrix Potter play socks were a shower gift when I was expecting Luke, and many of the clothes were acquired as gifts before he arrived. My mom made the crocheted blanket on top, and the one beneath it was a gift from Sister Mary, archivist for the Archdiocese of Denver, who worked down the hall from me until I left the Pastoral Center to care for my firstborn.
