Has it Really been Three Years?

My, how Dennis Jack Bertram has changed since he entered the world on my dad's birthday three years ago. Back then, his only concerns were nursing, sleeping and being held. Now, he thinks about birthday gifts, his favorite videos, and cake. When Bridget wished him a happy birthday this morning, he went to the refrigerator, opened it, then started crying because his birthday cake wasn't in it. After hearing a few explanations about how I hadn't made his cake yet, he finally let himself be distracted by breakfast.

Happy birthday, Jack. You certainly keep life around here lively, and we all love you very much.
