Science in Progress

Luke had been asking to make a baking soda/vinegar rocket for days. When our study of geography brought up the topic of volcanoes, Luke and Bridget made a baking soda/vinegar "volcano" in an empty soda bottle. Taking the bottle outside and capping it to make a rocket was the next logical step. Luke attempted lift-off a number of times. Unfortunately, the rocket never launched.

What's more fun than things that foam over, explode, or launch like projectiles? If i ever take a welding class, I'm going to build myself up a huge boiling kettle and make a very deep steam-whistle. Something like a 40hz resonance. They'll hear it (feel it?) on the other side of Augusta.
